Destinations

1. Lan Ha Bay: Unveiling the Enchanting Legend
In the depths of history, an enchanting tale unfolds, one that has woven itself into the fabric of Vietnamese culture, just as folklore and legends have in countless lands around the globe.

As the story goes, in a time when the nation was still in its infancy, Vietnam faced formidable invaders sailing down from the northern seas. In their hour of need, the gods sent forth the Mother Dragon and her offspring to aid the valiant Vietnamese in defending their homeland. These celestial dragons descended from the heavens, vanquishing the invaders with their fiery breath and showering the land with emerald and jade jewels. These precious gems, upon contact with the earth, transformed into magnificent islands and islets, erecting impervious natural fortifications that thwarted the invaders’ advance.

Having repelled the threat, the Mother Dragon and her kin chose to linger in the mortal realm, forsaking their celestial abode. To this very day, these noble dragons repose upon the lands they safeguarded, their forms immortalized in the very contours of the landscape. As the tides ebbed and flowed, it was the dragons who carved the iconic, mountainous silhouette that graces the bay.

Situated to the south of the Halong Bay expanse, Lan Ha Bay, cradling Cat Ba Island, stretches across a sprawling domain encompassing more than 7,000 hectares, of which 5,400 hectares fall under the protective embrace of Cat Ba National Park. Commencing your expedition from the serene Cat Ba Island or bustling Tuan Chau City, it is worth noting that, while Lan Ha Bay falls administratively within the jurisdiction of Hai Phong Province (distinguished from the neighboring Quang Ninh Province, home to Halong Bay Classic), the astonishingly similar formations—about 400 islets scattered across the region—have rendered it a cherished constituent of the expansive Ha Long Bay complex in the hearts and minds of both locals and wanderers.

Lan Ha Bay weaves a tapestry of pristine splendor, where the sea’s gentle caress has sculpted the myriad limestone sentinels into secluded coves and serene inlets. Adorned with over a hundred exquisite, secluded beaches cradled at the base of the craggy monoliths, this oasis beckons with opportunities for languid swims, secluded beachside barbecues, and leisurely kayaking.

Lan Ha Bay, a well-kept secret, reveals its secrets with an untamed grandeur. For those yearning for quieter sanctuaries, this odyssey promises not only aquatic adventures but also a verdant canvas painted by the largest island in the entirety of the Ha Long region. A harmonious blend of tranquil cruising and vigorous pursuits such as hiking, cycling, or trekking in Vietnam’s nationally revered park, recognized by UNESCO in December 2004 as a World Biosphere Reserve.

2. Cai Beo Floating Fishing Village: A Tranquil Haven
Nestled approximately 1.5 kilometers from the heart of Cat Ba town, Cai Beo Floating Fishing Village exudes an aura of serenity and picturesque charm, making it an idyllic location for both residence and fishing pursuits.

Cai Beo stands as an invaluable gem within the Northern Coastal region, renowned for its historical significance. This ancient fishing village boasts the largest scale of its kind in all of Vietnam. It is home to over 300 fishing families, comprising approximately 1,000 residents, including 300 children. Despite its proximity to the bustling port, the village’s fortunate youth have the opportunity to access educational resources on the nearby island.

In recent years, the evolution of tourism and favorable government policies has breathed new life into the community surrounding Cai Beo Village. Today, the villagers derive their livelihood primarily from fishing, seafood cultivation, and engagement in tourism-related enterprises. We are committed to playing a role in providing employment opportunities for local residents and supporting locally sourced products. Our aim is not only to offer delightful excursions to our esteemed guests but also to contribute to the creation of stable livelihoods and responsible practices within the community.

A brief sojourn to this village unveils a distinct way of life among the local populace. Capture these everyday moments, and cherish them as an integral part of your journey through Vietnam, a testament to the rich tapestry of human existence that transcends borders.

3. Viet Hai: The Verdant Oasis
Nestled amidst the boundless sea, ensconced by towering mountains and the verdant jungles of Cat Ba National Park, Viet Hai beckons with an immediate embrace of nature’s lush green bounty. This quaint fishing village exudes an aura of tranquility, casting a captivating and soothing spell, a quintessential tableau of Northern Vietnamese village life.

Viet Hai, in the present day, stands as a beacon of community ecotourism. However, its natural landscapes, pristine and singular, combined with the warm hospitality of its residents, ensure that every guest is cocooned in a heartfelt embrace. Known as one of the most challenging communes on Cat Ba Island, the villagers here maintain an unassuming, optimistic, and hospitable way of life.

The recent construction of concrete roads has not only facilitated easier access to the village but also paved the way for improved living conditions for the locals. The younger generation has been encouraged to seek education in larger cities such as Hanoi and Saigon, with the intent of returning to contribute to the welfare of their beloved village. Consequently, visitors now have the option to experience authentic village life through homestays nestled in the very heart of this bucolic haven.

Embark on a leisurely bicycle ride through the village, allowing yourself to become immersed in the serenity of this locale and relishing the rhythm of local life as it unfolds before you.
